Dosage The recommended dose for the treatment of GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) is 40 mg/day in the morning for 4-8 weeks if required. Please consult your doctor and follow his or her recommendations. Please do not self medicate.
Uses and Benefits
Pantabhas is specially prescribed to cure acid production problems which if not controlled on time may lead to Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). It is a digestive disorder which affects the lower esophageal sphincter. It can be relieved through changes in lifestyle and dietary behaviour. But sometimes, it requires proper medication. This drug cures the problem of acid production in a very effective way such that it also prevents its severe symptoms such as heartburn and indigestion. It contains pantoprazole as its active ingredient which is best known to treat this problem with its unique mechanism. Now treat acid reflux problem much efficiently such that other problems related to it can also be prevented. Pantoprazole belongs to a group of drugs called proton pump inhibitor. It works by inhibiting the action of proton pump in the stomach which is responsible for the excessive production of acid. This results in the decreased amount of acid.
How it works Domperidone belongs to a class of medicines known as anti-emetics. Domperidone acts by helping food move faster through the food pipe, stomach and gut; thus normalising the digestion process. Pantabhas Tablet Side Effects The side effects are the negative response of a drug or medical treatment on your body. The common side effects which can occur after taking this medicine are difficulty in breathing, allergic facial swelling, swelling of tongue and throat, severe dizziness, fast heartbeat, skin blistering, sensitivity to light, yellowing of the skin, low level of magnesium and heavy sweating. Consult your doctor in case any of these side effects bother you. Other Information on Pantabas Tablet: * It may lead to the bacterial overgrowth in gastrointestinal tract * Its long term use can lead to atrophic gastritis * Caution should be exercised before taking this medicine if you are pregnant * Monitor liver functions regularly Drug-Drug Interactions Drug-drug interaction is a condition in which one drug increases or decreases the activity of another drug when both are administered together. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine in case you are taking any of these drugs: * Azole antifungals: Posaconazole, Ketoconazole, Itraconazole * Methotrexate * Ampicillin * Nelfinavir * Rilpivirine Contraindications This drug is not recommended in these conditions: * Low amount of magnesium in blood * Inadequate Vitamin B12 * Broken bone * Interstitial nephritis * Atrophic gastritis * CYP2C19 poor metabolizer * Clostridium Difficile Bacteria related colitis * Osteoporosis
